but we do have a cookie recipe for you!
Chocolate Cookie Recipe | Sweet & Delicious.
What do you need:
Ingredients:
- 175 gram white sugar
- 200 gram brown sugar
- 10 ml pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 360 gram flour
- 4,75 to 5 gram baking soda
- 4,75 to 5 gram baking powder
- 5 gram salt (sea salt)
- 350 gram chocolate or any mix
Let's do this, let's go:
Before we start, make sure to take out the butter out of the fridge for an hour!
Butter Softening: But if you forgot about the butter, no worries! Just chop the butter into pieces and microwave it for 10 seconds. The goal is to have soft butter, not melted butter (because we're not making butter soup, right? 😄).
Ingredients and Mixing:
- Start with 200 grams of softened salted or unsalted butter (I prefer salted).
- Place the butter in a large bowl.
-
Add the following ingredients and mix them up using a spatula or a
mixer:
- 175 gram white sugar
- 200 gram brown sugar
- 10 ml pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
-
In a seperate bowl mix the following ingredients (with your hand
or spatula):
- 360 gram flour
- 4,75 to 5 gram baking soda
- 4,75 to 5 gram baking powder
- 5 gram salt (sea salt)
-
After have them join eachother in one bowl, let's get it on:
- Add most of the chocolate to the mix (small chopped ones)
- Save some of the big ones for later
- The mix is for about 36 cookies
Butter Texture Check: If the dough feels a bit sticky and clings excessively to your fingers when touching, it means the butter was too soft. No worries! Just pop everything in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes. I do that anyway so I can have some coffee, regardless.
Shaping the Dough: Once everything is chilled, take some dough and roll it into golf ball-sized rounds (or larger if you prefer custom XL cookies). The choice is yours!
Chocolate Chunks: As you roll each dough ball, tuck in some chunks of chocolate. Then place them on the baking sheet without flattening the dough. Add a nice chunk of chocolate on top and press it halfway in.
Preheat and Bake: Preheat your oven to 190°C. Fill the baking tray with the dough balls, leaving some space between them (they'll spread during baking—obviously!). Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. When they turn golden brown, they're ready. If they seem undercooked, don't trust your eyes—put...they are done, take them out!
Cooling and Enjoying: Once taken out, let them cool on a rack. Once you take a bite, you'll experience soft, delicious cookies with a delightful surprise of melted chocolate.
